Configuring a Text Import Device
The Text Import interface contains five pages: Device, Point Templates, Column Mapping, File Format, and Advanced. Each page is described in subsequent topics.
- The Device page contains general information about the import such as the device name, source file name, post-processing action, the Import Now button, etc.
- The Point Templates page provides a method for you to use existing tags in the system as templates for those being imported.
- The Column Mapping page is where you map the information in the source file to CygNet fields, validate source data, and indicate how to process blank data or empty columns.
- The File Format page is used to specify the format of the source file.
- The Advanced page contains features for designating the kind of data to be imported (current values, point configuration, and/or facility attributes), designate an alternate current value service, data filtering, configuring history, and saving/loading the text import configuration to/from an XML file.
